Description

As part of our Watershed Watch program, we need volunteers to help collect water samples and data at four (4) sampling sites along the San Diego River. We have partnered with the San Diego River Park Foundation in the past months to collect water samples jointly with their River Watch team. Going forward, we will coordinate our own separate sampling days due to logistics with the lab we drop off our samples at.

You will be joined by our Community Science Director, Laura, and Community Science Coordinator, Camila. They will meet volunteers at the first sampling site location, and vanpool everyone in our Coastkeeper van to the remaining sites before returning to the meet-up location.

The meet-up location will be between Riverdale St. and Zion Ave. near Grantville, San Diego, CA 92120. Exact coordinates are here. See the image attached for reference.

Street parking should be available along both sides of the road.

Please bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toe shoes. These sites are located in mostly urban areas with different types of plants, debris, and rocks.

I, Lesly, will follow up to connect you with our designated staff. Please reach out to me, lesly@sdcoastkeeper.org, or Laura, our Community Science Director at laura@sdcoastkeeper.org, for any questions or concerns.
