As part of our Mission Bay Water Quality Monitoring program, we have two monthly sampling opportunities: a weekend date (Saturday) and a weekday date (usually on a Monday or Wednesday). To learn more about the program and see data results since September 2023, visit sdcoastkeeper.org/mb-wqm
Volunteers will collect water samples and use different scientific instruments to gather data. Please bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, and shoes that can get wet (or are easy to take off). You might also get wet, so bring a towel or water-resistant clothing.
There will be three (3) teams of no more than five (5) people each, with a designated carpool driver for each team. Please sign up for this opportunity if you do not want to be a carpool driver ONLY. There are 12 slots open for general volunteers who do not wish to be a team driver. If you can be a carpool driver, please sign up on the other opportunity form.
The first ten (10) volunteers to sign up qualify for a $60 stipend given in the form of a virtual Visa Gift card the following week. Let me know if you'd like to decline and offer it to the next person. Stipends are limited to one per person per month to make them accessible to other people as well. I appreciate your understanding.

Location: The meet-up is at De Anza Cove Park, in the grassy area to the right of the Gazebo. Please be mindful of whether there are other people set up near the grass, and move towards a spot that's open without other people or groups. There tend to be parties and other events near the Gazebo area, so we will meet further away from that structure. Exact coordinate estimates are here.
